Things to Remember...

 

plié - to bend

​

tendu - to stretch or point toes

​

battement - to kick

​

relevé - to rise

​

passé - toe to knee

​

sauté - to jump

​

arabesque - stand on a straight leg and place the other leg to the back straight

​

chassé - to chase or gallop

Ballet Feet Positions

When you jump, you are on 2 feet.


When you hop, you are on 1 foot.


When you skip, you step then hop.


When you gallop, your feet chase each other.

When you count your music, you start with #1 and count until #8 then start over at #1

 

ball change - start with feet apart and rock back and forth

 

kick ball change - start with feet together, little kick then rock back and forth

 

step dig - step to the side and dig opposite ball of foot together

 

jazz walk - open cross in front walks

 

grapevine - open cross in front walk then open cross in back walk

Things to work on...


When you jump,
